I hate shopping around for insurance, and I’m very happy with Healthy Paws, however, their rate increases are ridiculous....

So, here I am shopping around. I looked at Trupanion, and their rates are even higher. [emoji53].

Does anyone have any experience or know anything about Spot Pet Insurance?

Thanks in advance for advice!

Healthy Paw isn't offered in WA but we went with Nationwide. It's $48 a month for scheduled coverage. So far, nothing to complain about but no major need yet. Just renewed after 1 year, no increase in premium.

I have Nationwide as well and have had it since Jax came home. I’m at about $200 a month for the whole pet with wellness plan but he has IVDD and has had well over $20,000 in expenses covered.

Where in WA are you? I’m in Everett.

In Bothell. I'm not sure what kind of coverage ours is for IVDD.

We have the "Major Medical Plan

Pet Wellness Plus Rider" plan.

IVDD is our main concern. How long have you been with Nationwide? How do u like it?

Been thinking of changing to the 90% with 10K per year. The quote I got was like $100 per month. Charlie is now 1. Healthy but has spring boards instead hind legs.

Jax will be 8 in April and I’ve had Nationwide since I got him. We started with the major medical plan and then a few years later they came out with the whole pet with wellness and we were able to switch. And thankfully we did because a couple months after that, he had his first IVDD surgery. There is no yearly cap and they reimburse 90% for covered expenses after the $250 deductible.

I’m sure when his plan renews in June the cost will be over $200 a month but because he has IVDD and at risk for further disc herniations, I will continue to pay it.

I have PetPlan on Tucker and they have been great with paying my claims for him this year. They cover IVDD as long as it’s not preexisting. I have ASPCA for Charlie and they cover IVDD as well but they have been extremely slow paying for a small preventative care claim. I think I may go with PetPlan for Milo when he arrives next month. ASPCA went up $15 the last two months for Frenchies to my surprise and I’m going to call them tomorrow about that.

I have embrace and its only 77/month! covers everything with on ly 500 deductible

Never heard of them but went ahead and did a quote. The way we see it, we mainly want it for the major issues.

Looking at a $1000 deductible with limit of $30K 90% seems very reasonable.

We might be switching here soon for peace of mind.
