Hello, Im getting my French bulldog puppy in two weeks. I have been researching puppy food and from everything I could find Orijen puppy food seems like a great food. My breeder says it has to much protein. She says she likes science diet. Everything I've read on that said its not that good of food.I don't want to start him off on the wrong food. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Orijen is awesome. Science Diet is crap. Dogfoodadvisor.com is a great resource.

There really is no such thing as "too much protein" for dogs. It should be the primary food source. They are meat eaters by nature.

I switch between Origen, Acana, Go, Now and Lotus all grain free.

Everything I've researched says its good to rotate kibbles and proteins to avoid food allergies and keep a well balanced diet.

Good luck!

We feed our pups FROMM Puppy Gold in the pink bag and have very good results, and tell the new pawrents to keep them on it until they are around 7 months of age.

:welcome3: to FBN ..... no to the Science Diet... it is good for a certain short term purpose, at times, but overall it is crap food.

We fed Fromm Prairie Gold until 8 mths then switched to Fromm Pork and peas

Congrats on the new puppy! Can't wait to see pictures.
I also agree no on the science diet. Stella did not do well on Orijen. She has done well on Amicus and Acana Pork and butternut squash. Jake is on Horizon Pulsar (salmon). My dogs have allergies, so we are always on grain free and potato free diets. I also add "toppers" of fresh cooked salmon or freeze dried chicken.
