Hey all! So I noticed today that Ripley, when outside to pee, has gone two to three times in a row. There are three other dogs that live with us (my inlaws), so I'm curious about whether this is a marking thing or a ITI. This evening she had an accident in the house (we're obviously still working on potty training), but when I brought her outside immediately after she peed, moved a little ways away, peed, moved away again and peed a third time. She did have an accident in her crate today but I believe it's because my inlaws left her for too long when they went out and I was at work. She's pooped a lot today (prob four times) but they look normal, no diarrhea. Any thoughts/input?

Edited to add occasionally she does what looks like a fake squat but I haven't learned yet if thTs just something she does. No yelping or anything and slept six and a half hours straight last night.

That is a lot ... you might want to have her checked for a UTI

Pooping four times in the day is not a lot for a puppy, they tend to poop a lot.

Like 2bullymama said, I would have checked for UTI.

Thanks y'all - made an appointment for her tomorrow at 2!

*Peeing update* - so I brought Ripley in. The vet did an initial test with the free catch irons I collected which was pretty well normal, just a little bit of sediment. They wanted to get the urine right from her bladder so she stayed at the vet until her bladder filled enough to extract from. They are sending those out for a culture. They said if it's not an infection, it could be a congenital defect regarding the flow of urine from the kidneys to the uretha but that you normally see that with "dribbling ". They said if it isn't that, then it's likely behavioral. It was strange - at the vet she peed on the floor and that was it, no air squats or follow up dribbles, but she did the air squats again in the yard when we got home. I mentioned to the vet once or twice she's done a mystery squat in the house without peeing first which she found a little odd. But bottom line we are just watching her for now, trying to work on our house training. She's doing just fine, playing hard and sleeping hard!

be sure to keep us posted when you get the results

Glad you took her to the vet to be sure. It could be she is just preoccupied outside and not stopping to pee all the way. If that's it, she should outgrow it.
