Nipple Removal

I'm like Inspector Gadget when it comes to Quella. I seriously search every inch of her and she is always squirmey wormey, trying to get away, so I hope the below picture helps a lil (pardon the lack of manicure).

Well, her third lady bit on the left has a small raspberry coloured spot. This lady bit isn't fully protruding, so I squeezed a bit to see the skin underneath the surface and she has an additional red spot. I noticed this at 8pmish and they next day she took a liking to scratching it. I looked again today and now she has 3 small punture type marks on her chest area. Poor girl. Whatever it is seems to be making her itchy.

Any thoughts?

Q just woke up from a nap and was scratching again. When I looked, one of the red spots was missing and there is a gouge in the skin, but no open sore. I'll keep an eye on it and see if anything changes. It could possibly be scabs, but the raspberry colouring threw me off...

no idea what it could be.... bullmama ??

Could be a bug bite of some kind.

Ouchie, I am not sure, I'm guessing the itching caused it to bleed?

Well, both raspberry colour markings are gone, but she continues to scratch even after I gave her Benadryl and the whole area around the nipple is pink with tears on the skin and scabs forming. I looked this morning and the whole nipple is a purplish colour, so We're off to see Dr. Bob, The Wonderful Vet of All Creatures. Because, because, because, because, because, because of the wonderful things he does.

Dr Bob and Dr Roberts (for a 2nd opinion) think it's an inverted nipple that is causing her discomfort. I need to clean the area with alcohol and apply 1% hydrocortisone. Her spay surgery is August 04 and if she is still uncomfortable then, we will remove the nipple.

Not only is Q getting spayed, she her having her dew claws removed, nipple(s) removed and baby teeth that didn't fall out where she has adult teeth that have came in removed.

Anyone else have opinions or suggestions on these surgeries?

Hopefully she won't be in too much discomfort. Make sure she has a nice little area, preferably a crate or den, where she can sleep as much as possible, and move around as little as possible. I think she should be feeling pretty good within 48 hours, which will seem like forever!

After 3 days of cleaning the nipple and scabbed skin (from her scratching), as well as putting hydrocortisone on her, she has stopped scratching completely. It was a huge struggle, but I was able to clean the inverted area and black stringy material came out. I'm hoping she happened to scratch her nipple, which caused her to have an itchy scab and continued discomfort. If it bothers her again between now and her spay surgery, she will have the nipple removed. Has anyone ever heard of a nipple removal surgery?
