I finally convinced my husband that Wyatt needs a playmate! However, the reality is that I want another Frenchie as we are over the moon with him. He does love all dogs and he will be 3 years old in 6 mos. Have I waited too long to add another male dog to the household? What is the best way to introduce them? Wyatt sleeps with us at night so would a puppy be welcomed in the bed? So many things to consider as I have never owned two dogs at once. We are on a waiting list for a puppy so just wanted any input from all you wonderful Frenchie families.

Frenchies are wonderful and the more the merrier. We have three and two 8 week old pups here, and they all get along. If you have a male then I would suggest getting a female, as male and female usually get along better than two males, unless both are neutered, then that is better. We have two adult females and one 6 month old male, they all get along great. I would not let the pup sleep in bed, because they need to learn potty training and a crate helps with that, plus you wouldn't want the pup to fall out of bed and get hurt.

We have a 17 mo. old male and a 9 mo. old female. Our male loved playing with other dogs so it was a good excuse to get another Frenchie! Our male, Jake, sleeps in bed with us and Stella sleeps in an enclosed pen in the kitchen. She is too young to roam free throughout the house if we are not home, so she stays in the pen while we are gone too. If your Wyatt is good with other dogs and not territorial then the introduction to a new puppy should be fine. The puppy will most likely torment him and hang from his jowls playing, but we are so happy we have two. You will have so much fun watching them interact and play!:) I love this breed!!!

From experience, Gidget LOVED the puppies. We brought siblings home in January, when she was a little over a year. Our Cairn terrier tolerates them, but she is older.

I do crate train as well and I share a king size bed with hubby and Wyatt and am use to getting up in the middle of the night to take a puppy out until they are old enough to hold it all night. I always put the puppy in the middle of the bed for safety sake. Thanks everyone for the great advice!!!

Gidget sleeps with us, in the middle. No puppies yet though.... Not sure how that will go over with Gidgmo. :)
