I've recently asked for advice on what kind of food to feed my puppy.

Odin is now 3 months, he's been with me since he was 11 weeks old. I've been feeding him Orijen Puppy Food. He seemed to love it as he would devour every meal without hesitation. In the past 3 days, he's been refusing to eat and I have no idea why.

Some info for context. He seems equally excited to see me prepare his food when he refuses to eat and before when he used to lick the bowl clean. He doesn't look sick. He is still running around and prone to play around. He will gladly accept snacks and treats. He's been having hiccups randomly, whether he just eaten or hours after eating. He still goes pee and poo, diarrhea does not happen.

My question would be, appearing he is not sick, why would he stop eating a food he would eat before with no issues?

Unless the hiccuping lasts more than a couple of hours it isn't anything to worry about. French bulldogs can get bored of a food and need a switch.

He vomited today after I posted this.

I did not see the vomit, but when I went out to the market and came back, I could see a huge brown stain on the covers of one of his beds, I assumed he ate his puke but the problem is I could not see how his vomit looked like.

They get bored of a food? How unfortunate, I just bought this 2KG pack of Orijen Puppy Food and it costs me nearly 50 bucks. D:

Should I just buy another brand tomorrow or should I be worried he vomited and take him to the vet? Cos he doesn't seem sick at all.............

Edit: The hiccups lasts for like 5 mins then goes away, but can happen a few times a day (once or twice a day)

He might not be feeling well- won't hurt to switch him to bland diet of boiled chicken or turkey, plus rice for a few days. After a few days try the Orijen again. Some members put toppers on top of their dog food to entice their dog to eat it, eg. freeze dried treats, but your dog will be smart and expect this from now on if you do this.

They can be very picky... but I agree, bland diet for a few days to settle the tummy

Kara, 6 months and a week now, was the pickiest little eater before we switched to raw a little over a month ago. We used to feed her Acana and she would go from days when she'd eat everything up to others when she wouldn't even touch her kibble. As everyone said, frenchies are picky little eaters. You have to find what works for Odin.

I made some brown rice with chicken breast, salmon fillet and eggs, mixed it with a tiny bit of kibble and he vacuumed it up with pleasure. Hopefully he'll keep munching these down. What I'm wondering is if this has enough nutrients for his age.

It's hard to balance out home made food, easier to buy a base mix and add in your own protein eg. Honest Kitchen https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/dog-food/meals/base-mix or Sojos Grain-Free Dog Food Mix, Grandma Lucy's Artisan Grain-free Premix etc. I don't know what's available in Macau.

If there's a commercial frozen raw dog food which is either the PREY diet [contains a mix of 80% meat, 10% bones, and 10 % organs ( of which half is liver ) ] or the BARF diet [ contains a mix of 70% meat, 10% bones, 10% organs ( of which half is liver ) and 10% vegetables and fruit. ] then buy that.
