Reverse sneezing while eating

I've been researching a noise Daisy makes while eating. The best I can come up with is that she is reverse sneezing. I read a bunch of articles and watched a you tube video and all of it sounds like what she's doing except for the fact that she only does it while eating. It's not at every meal but at a lot of them and she'll usually vomit a little bit of food and saliva during an episode (which she then promptly eats). I've seen her do it when she eats from her bowl and if she eats from an interactive toy.

Most of the descriptions mention doing it while eating but don't go into it from that angle. Could her food size be the problem (Fromm 4 star grain free)?

Also, she has been a very poor eater since we got Hank. I was thinking that she was just distracted with Hank and now I'm wondering if she is scared of this reverse sneezing and is avoiding eating. She is skipping full meals and doesn't seem to care if food is down. I know she likes food because she won't turn down a treat and she'll even eat her food from my hand.

Anyone with insight?

You can try a slow feeder bowl or just try to feed her in a shallow baking pan where the kibble is all spread out to see it that helps. She is most likely eating too quickly.
You don't want her to start food guarding, so make sure you are feeding them both far apart from each other, where they can't see each other. After they have finished eating pick up and wash the bowls immediately. I had this problem with my female. There were days where she would rather guard her food than eat it.
At 6 mos. old I wouldn't guess it is the size of the kibble, but could be. Do you add some water? You could try to spice things up with some sort of topper for her kibble.

Here's the thing, she is the slowest eater every. She doesn't appear to inhale her food. She takes her time and I've even seen her chew. Would putting too much food in her mouth at once cause it? I have purchased a slow feeder so we'll try that out.

The two dogs are fed in completely separate rooms. Hank eats in his crate in the living room and Daisy eats in the kitchen. I don't let them eat together and they can't see each other and if one finishes before the other, they can't get to the other's bowl. They have never had the opportunity to eat near each other since we got Hank.

Tonight, I went ahead and wet her kibble with a little warm water and let it sit for a couple of minutes. She stood and ate almost all of it without leaving her bowl which she has never done since we got Hank. She also did not reverse sneeze. Is it ok to continue doing this if it works or am I causing any issues?

You can wet her kibble if you want...Cheli sometimes does this (not eat) and if I place the food in a different bowl or on the floor, he eats without a problem. I am also thinking she might need to have the bowl elevate a bit since you said she eats slow it could be the bending of the neck . Cheli does this sometimes, but it is usually due to him thinking he is missing something else going on and wants to be where that 'action' is. What we do, is both pups sit in the kitchen by the sink... Cheli eats first, bowl is placed and he is released while Lambeau waits ... once Cheli is done, his bowl is lifted, Lambeau's bowl is placed and he is then released. if either of them move before we say release.. the bowl is lifted and they are placed back in a sit/stay... this is part of nothing in life is free and can help.

My oldest, Chunks, has a lot of issues with regurgitating food and he used to reverse sneeze all the time as a pup. My vet told me to wet his kibble a bit and feed smaller amounts throughout the day He is 2 now, and he doesn't reverse sneeze anymore, but still has some regurgitation issues sometimes.
