Rosie will be turning 1 on June 28th. We called the vet today and scheduled her to get spayed on July 6th while we are on vacation that week. We are using a different vet that the one we normally use since our original vet told us he was not comfortable doing it, he is up there in age, but at least he is honest. He highly recommended another vet who we talked to and feel very confident he will do a great job. He owns 3 pugs. The worry feeling i guess will never go away until it has been completed.

I can't believe she is a year old already. I'm sure she will be fine. :)

Best of luck.... sending lots of positive thoughts. keep us posted

Yes time sure does go by quickly. The vet called today and actually wants to meet us and Rosie before the surgery next Monday, so we are scheduled this Thursday to meet with him. We met a few other Frenchie families and they also use him and after this I think we will switch and start using him from now on. Our current bet like I said is great with our family members but getting up there in age. Can't wait till this is over and done with and will worry till then even though I know all will be fine.

Sounds like you have found a wonderful vet, and I'm sure everything will be OK. It is nice knowing and trusting a good vet.

Good luck. We've had 2 spayed and all went well. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Thanks again all. Vet called and everything went great and as planned. We will go pick her up at 4:00pm today. She had some bumps on her still and he seems to think strongly that it is an allergic reaction to a flea bite. Want to put on Trifexis but heard mixed feelings about dogs dieing from taking it. Thoughts?

I have heard bad things about Frenchies and Trifexis. I don't know the circumstances around that, and I do know a Vet that uses Trifexis on all 6 of his Frenchies. I won't use it though, just in case. I dont want to take any chances with my baby. That said, ask about Advantage drops or Bravecto for flea control.

I am thinking the same thing Tgirl. he also uses it on his pets, but i do not know if i trust the possible chances of something happening to Rosie. She gets the 6 month shot of ProHeart but it does not have flea control. Want to give her the best to have a healthy life. Trifexis from what he tells me covers both heartworm and flea preventive. Also heard heartworm preventive shots are better than pills

Please stay away from Trifexis... I know of several Bulldogs that have died from it or have health issues. There is a Facebook page with a lot of info on the product.

Thats what i thought also 2bullymama. Thanks all again for the reassurance

Just picked her up about 30 minutes ago.. Everything went well and you can tell it hurts her a little but we have meds to help her out for the next few days.

I have heard nothing good about Trifexis. I use Sentinel Plus which is for heartworms and fleas.

Cbrugs, we decided to give her Sentinel for heartworms monthly along with Comfortis for fleas. I was very stern with him and said that i did not want Trifexis. Thanks again to all for the help and advice.

Awww poor sweet girl. I'm glad everything went well. :)

She looks so grumpy! Haha!

Glad surgery went well and she's home on her road to recovery!

Yes she is doing great. you would not notice that she even had surgery on Monday. Wants to run around and jump but we are stopping her until she heals a little more.
