I don't know what to do. Today I got home and let Louis out of the cage and realized he has two spots on his ear where he has been scratching, he scratched so hard it was a little cut open. His nails are long right now because he needs to go to the groomers. What should i do? should i clean it with soap and water? Put solution in his ear?

he may have an infection in his ear.. or most likely wax buildup and dirt. Does it smell when you sniff his ears? If it is smelly, take a soft cloth with warm water or some apple cider vinegar and clean his ears. I put my fingers all the way inside with a cloth in my hand. If your dog is not used to this, he might squeak a little at first but make it a weekly habit so he can get used to it.

Since Louis is 6 months old, he is also teething and getting his adult canines and molars right now so he might have some jaw pain. My puppy is 5 1/2 months right now and he also seems to be scratching his ears a lot lately and I think it might be the teething.

Bleu's ears and breath is extremely stinky since he is teething. But I would not rule out the infection yet. Keep on eye on him and see if he still scratches his ear. Take him to the vet if he continues.

I would give him Benadryl and take him to the vet when you can.
