Heartthrob Seymour has moved over to the available page, and is ready to find his own perfect forever home! This three-year-old looker came to FBRN through a local animal shelter that had picked him up as a stray. Luckily, now he can find a home that he can stay in with a family that will love him & help him manage his health issues!
Seymour is an active guy who goes on a two-mile walk every day, and still has energy to play catch and wrestle with the resident dogs. But he’s still a Frenchie after all, and he loves to lounge on the couch, or spend hours by the window keeping an eye on the neighborhood happenings. He’s a happy boy who can get a little too excited and nip at hands when playing, but he has never broken skin and is easily deterred with a correction. Seymour loves chewing on antlers, visiting his friends in the neighborhood and soaking up all the attention he can get! Plus he is completely housebroken and crate trained. Because he is "handsy" we are looking for a family with older kids who are dog-savvy, and who won't allow him to get worked up. If your kids have play dates with other kids in your home, Seymour should be crated or shut in another room, just because there's no telling how well strange kids have been trained around dogs.
Poor Seymour has irritable bowel syndrome, which is managed with prescription dog food. His vet recommends he stay on it, so his future family will have to make sure they’re willing to continue with his diet.
For Seymour, just about any kind of home would be great! He would do well with a single person, couple, or family with older children. He loves kids, but might be a little too energetic and jump too much for younger ones. He also enjoys playing with dogs his size and bigger. Seymour should live with experienced dog owner who can manage his energy level and can offer him firm and consistent training.
In terms of housing, Seymour could happily live in an apartment or house. He enjoys exploring a fenced yard, but it’s not necessary as long as he is being walked regularly and can get plenty of exercise. A family who works outside the home would be fine; Seymour currently stays home and gets taken out by a dog walker in his foster home. He would not be a great office buddy given that he gets really excited meeting new people, but it might be something his new family can work on with him.
