Spring has sprung and foster gal Sprout has made her way to the available page just in time! This young pup was surrendered to FBRN because her owner realized he was spending too much time at work and not enough time with Sprout. Sprout is a healthy, two year old black-masked fawn with the cutest, smooshiest face you ever did see! She's looking for her perfect home and you'll never know if you're it unless you read on!
Like many Frenchies, Sprout is a bit particular when it comes to her requirements for a forever home. Sprout has some fears and insecurities that will require an experienced Frenchie owner. This gal is pretty submissive, but really only seeks out attention on her own time. She's not a fan of kids, either. Her foster mom explains, "She does not hate children, but she does not like them either!" An adult only home would be perfect for Sprout.
Sprout has never been exposed to cats, so per FBRN policy she will not be adopted to a home with feline friends. This policy is in place to keep both our Frenchies and our kitties safe! But she loves all others dogs so at least one other low-key dog would be ideal for her. A pooch who is not too hyper would be the perfect companion to help Sprout with some of her insecurities.
Sprout is potty trained and crate trained. She does well at home in her crate while her foster family is at work. She gets a mid-day potty break and that is perfect for her.
Sprout likes to chew on bones or play with her toys. She likes to be near her people though she is shy at seeking out attention. She will initiate play with her humans, but only when she wants it. If you have experience with insecure or shy dogs, please tell us about it in your application! Sprout will definitely need a confident and experienced owner.
New places make Sprout anxious so she would not be a good office dog. She very much needs stability and going back and forth to work each day would not be great for her anxiety. Of course, if you work from home, that would be great!
Sprout needs a home with a fenced in yard. Because of her fear of new places, a yard that she can explore and feel comfortable in is very important. She loves to run around in the backyard at her foster home!
One last requirement for Sprout is that if her family goes on vacation - she'll need an in-home dog sitter. Going to a kennel is not an option for Sprout since new places make her anxious. Do you have someone who could stay at your home to babysit her when you're on vacay? Tell us about them, too!
