Hey guys! I'm from Australia, Adelaide and was just wondering what brand food would you recommend for me for my french bulldog, Bruno, something that I can purchase easily from here. Thank you

Bear is doing really well on a mixture of Primal Raw (or Stella & Chewys) + Fromm kibble. I basically add a nugget of raw to each of his meals. That way, he receives a bit of raw goodness with his high-quality kibble.

Also, don't be afraid to add some fruits and veggies to his meals, barring toxic items of course. We feed berries/apples/peaches/etc. with breakfast and fresh peas and carrots with dinner.

I am not sure what types of stores you have down there, but that's what works for me!

Thank you guys, that was a lot of help! I'll def be making him some cooked home meals with veggies and fruits 😁 and looking at the list there's only just a few of commercial foods that are sold here that I've seen at Pet Stock which is good 👌

Any issues with mixing raw and kibble? We recently started Steve's Real Food...tempted to supplement with kibble but I haven't yet. I give Maddie 2 oz of raw goat milk as a mid day snack.

Lori, Where do you shop? Im in the SD area too...found Paw Country and IB Pets...both are awesome and they both have an outstanding selection and customer service.

I wouldnt recommend feeding kibble and raw together. Raw takes 4-6 hours to digest and kibble up to 12. The whole digestion is different because raw is just protein but kibble also contains carbohydrates and is all processed.
If you want to feed kibble and raw I suggest a raw feeding in the morning and a kibble meal at night.

True. And I did a bit of research on the subject a while back, and I wasn't able to find any literature suggesting that this is somehow a 'bad' thing:

Canned food also takes about 4-6 hours to digest, and a lot of folks like to add either a bit of canned or raw to kibble meals in general.

The important thing is to consider the additional calories that even a scoop of canned or nugget of raw is adding to his intake:

I dont believe it. They are even saying the digestion starts in the mouth. This is not true. Its scientifically proven that dogs saliva does not contain any enzymes to start break down particles of the food. Human saliva does and some other animals saliva does as well.
Its up to every pet owner to make this decision, but from what I have learned from professional and reliable sources I would not recommend it!
But dont get me wrong; everybody that feeds raw ,even if its just a part of the diet , definitely does a great thing ;)
