Good morning everyone. I am new here and tried searching for a similar topic, but couldn't find anything. Hoping I'm putting this in the right place!

I figured you all might have some advice or some recommendations for me! I am looking to see if anyone uses a camera during the day to monitor their frenchie while they are away.

I have seen such cameras like the DropCam, but not sure if they are worth the $150.

Anyone have any experience or suggestions for a camera? I'd really appreciate it!

Thank you!

I was actually considering one when we started leaving Maple alone for a couple hours. But from I can tell she only sleeps or plays with the cat when we're gone. :p
However it'd still be cool to watch them (also a little creepy lol) and I can imagine it would give a lot of people a piece of mind.

I had considered one as well but I'm pretty sure all Jax does is sleep while we're gone. He's confined to the kitchen and can't really get into trouble anyways.

I was considering putting on my laptop webcam to watch them during the day but I know they probably just sleep, and maybe yell at the mailman as he goes by the window.

$150 is a lot for a camera. Sorry I don't have any recommendations. Try Amazon maybe?

I do not have one, I want one, but a product I've looked into is VueZone... a friend on another forum has one and it works really good

I want one too, we've always been curious about his antics while we are away. Most of the reasonably priced ones we saw on Amazon were motion activated that took short hurts of videos. Didn't really want that

Thanks 2bullymama, I'll look into that one.

I know people might think it's strange I want to look into what my dog is doing, but I live in a first floor apartment, and I guess I'd like it for security as well. Kind of a combination deal!

I was looking into simply am. It is motion activated, records and stores an hour worth of video (so you can share whatever antics) and you can talk through it real time. It's not the cheapest but it just looked cool. I haven't quite gotten to the point of buying it yet.

If you have a couple Apple divices such as a phone and a iPad, you can download an app called presence. It turns your iPad into a camera you can view from your phone while your out.. I did this when Louie was a pup and I had to run out while he was in his crate.

I work from home, so I'm with Q almost 24/7 however when I do need to leave the house, I have the camera aimed on her to see what she may be getting into or to watch her patterns to see if I need to leave different toys, move the potty pad, etc. The D-Link cameras are roughly $120-200ish each and I downloaded the D-Link app on my Android phone and iPad to have access to all of the cameras, listen to Q howling when I leave, etc. The cameras are connected through the router and are all wireless, just need an outlet. Some are waterproof and have nighvision-like capabilities and others rotate and you can speak through, so the person/Frenchie on the receiving end can hear you through the camera.
