Hi There, My little girl took a long time to go into her first heat. She was 14 months old. It was then long and messy. Anyway I am wondering will it always take her a longer time. I know most go into heat every 6 months. She in now on months 8 out for her second one and there is no indication she is close to starting again. The first one, she did get very swollen, bled a lot and exhibited all the signs so I don't think I would have missed it. Has anyone else been through these far apart heat cycles? Thanks

[MENTION=3849]sophie777[/MENTION] sorry it took so long to get back to you. The first heat can take longer, plus sometimes they have a silent heat that is hard to detect. Some dogs just don't go into heat every 6 month like normal also. Hopefully she will come into heat soon.
