The hidden truth about raw dog treats and raw diets

I have fed raw in the past... best you can do for them. Just wish i had the time to invest in doing it again

Just curious since I'm using Orijen now and never tried frozen- can't you buy frozen raw food patties all ready to go? That doesn't sound like a big time investment.

Sure can but too many recalls

You can. Vital Essentials is a brand I've used in the past. They've done one voluntary recall that I'm aware of, but there were no customer complaints that triggered it. My only issue with commercial frozen raw is that it's way more expensive than doing it on your own because you're paying for the convenience. I buy my ground mixes now from an area farm and then portion out my own. Just finished up a batch, as a matter of fact. Took me 18 minutes from start to finish. That'll last me a week. Because my girl is a "delicate flower" and can only eat the most expensive proteins [grumble grumble], it used to run me about $120/mo. on VE. I think I spend between $45-$55 now, depending on what we buy.

We've been on raw for the past months and it was all great. I sometimes buy meat from butcher shop and prepare it myself whenever I have time. But unfortunately, I don't always have that much time to do it so just relying on frozen raw.
