Does anyone feed their frenchies the dehydrated food from Honest Kitchen. I just got a 10lb box and will start soon as his kibble starts getting low. Has anyone ever fed dehydrated food like this only without any other food? I wanted to try this out since I just can't do the real raw diet due to Morty vomiting and my own tolerance to the smell and thought. We've been having issues with Morty getting bored with his kibble only a week after trying a new brand or flavor and have to feed him food he doesn't like for a month in hopes that he will just get used to it. We tried Canine Caviar, Wellness, Blue Buffalo and Nature's Instinct . He will skip meals no matter how much we try to make him eat. Some days he will eat all his meals and others he will just look at us like "you kidding me?! I ain't eating that!". Oh how I miss the days where he would do little spins and two legged walks before putting his meal down. He doesn't even get excited one bit for his meals. Hopefully this food gets him happy for meals again.

Sorry, no. I home cook for ours to supplement their kibble.

We have supplemented with Stella and Chewy's freeze dried food before. Ours like the duck, duck, goose flavor.

I personally don't use it but I have heard a lot of good things about it. I find it a bit pricy though. Sojo is another dehydrated food and as good but a little more economical. Both are good choices.

Have you thought about freeze-dried instead of raw? Freeze-dried is just as 'clean'as raw however they removed the water content so you don't have to keep it cool. Just add water back to it and feed it.

GREAT product.... I am comtempalting switching to it, but have no real reason other than I know it is a great prodcut and you can add whatever protein you want. I know many people that have used it with excellent results.

I am not familiar with Honest Kitchen, but I looked up the ingredients for the chicken formula because I am always interested in something new and exciting for my Stella as she is super picky and too thin. Unfortunately it has potatoes and she is allergic. 50% Carbohydrate seemed rather high as well. I have found a product that she loves, Purebites freeze dried chicken. It is kinda pricey and is basically sold as a treat, but its 100% chicken and from the US. I sprinkle it on her kibble and add some warm water with a little low sodium chicken broth. They also have a salmon version as well. We did not have good luck with raw as well...vomiting and lack of interest. Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be to get them to actually eat and enjoy it!

Have you tried home cooking for Stella? Jax has no problems eating but on Sunday I cooked up some ground turkey, brown sprouted rice, a bean mixture and veggies for him and have been mixing it in with his kibble for dinner.

Yes! I have tried cooking ground chicken and she prefers the freeze dried! She will pick through what she doesn't like also and leave the veggies in the bowl. It's crazy.

I actually got the "Love" one which is the more expensive grain free line of Honest Kitchen. We got the beef one and will try other flavors. You might look into the Chicken Thrive one that has no potatoes but has whole grains and is 39.9% carbs. It's been about 4 days on the new food and Morty LOVES it! He begs for it as I make it and does his little spins and standups like he used to when we first got him. His eyes are still red though....can't figure out what he is allergic too. All I know is that he hasn't thrown up once yet so this is a good contender for his forever food. He's still getting puppy servings so it costs about $100 every 20 days. When we cut down at one year he will be given less and it will end up being $100 every 40 days about. I know it's probably crazy to spend that much on dog food but I still find it affordable so I'll stick for it till the next experiment with food.

Thanks I will keep that in mind next time we run into a no eating rant. Hope your pup continues to do well!
