Hey all,

Quick question. My older Frenchie has been eating raw forever and it has completely resolved his allergy issues. The new pup, has been eating Acana single ingredient kibble since I’ve gotten him but he poops SO much I’m ready to switch him to raw. After reading numerous threads, I began giving him the raw as treats for the last few days (Instinct Beef). All was well. This morning for breakfast, I gave him straight raw and he had diarrhea about an hour afterwards.

Do I give him a day or 2 for his tummy to get adjusted? Or should I stop the raw immediately?

Thanks in advance! :)

Oh jeez. Sorry to read about the tummy upset. I hope more knowledgeable people are able to chime in. I've just started on the raw journey myself and have not experienced this. I read somewhere on here in another thread that some people just dive right in and some people ween off kibble more slowly. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not, but I use Primal raw goat's milk and kinda pour some over the thawed patty. Hope it gets better for you soon!

I would try dividing total daily requirement into 3 meals, so each meal is smaller, and try a small meal of the raw. Or leave that raw in the freezer for now, and reintroduce it later. Meantime buy an easier to digest frozen raw like turkey, duck or rabbit that doesn't contain any tripe and give one meal a day of that and one meal a day of the kibble for a week, then switch over fully,

Thanks guys! I switched him to duck and I will also incorporate some of your tips! We shall see if that helps. :)

Mine eats duck and does well on it too. This is great news!
