Trying to scratch? Or something more?

Hey everyone! My frenchie Oscar is 9 years old and a few months ago he started doing this thing where it looks like he’s trying to scratch himself but his hips aren’t working as they were before and he can’t. I’ve attached a video of what he’s doing, I’ve also been told it could be something neurological as well. I just wanted to post here to see if anyone has had a similar issue. Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks everyone

It’s neurological.. only other thing it might be is anal glands need attention

Thanks for everyone’s response. He’s already been to the vet and waiting CT scan, I just posted to see if anyone else has had this happen. Also, he was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur and put on medication. I just did some research on the pills and vetamin has neurological side effects. Now that I think of it, these issues started happening around the same time he was put on medication. I’ve decided to stop giving him vetamin and see if there’s any changes. I will keep everyone posted!

My boy had a herniated disc in his neck and they did a MRI twice, so I just assumed that is what they would do in your pup’s case. Best of luck and keep us updated.
