Hello everyone!

My two year old frenchie has started not eating and vomiting today. Chunks was playing around yesterday and eating and everything was just fine. But this morning, he wouldnā€™t eat breakfast. Which is fine, since sometimes Chunks wonā€™t eat breakfast. He was playing around with his new brother, Charlie, and everything was just fine. But throughout the day, he wouldnā€™t eat and heā€™s gotten to where he just didnā€™t want to play with Charlie anymore. I put some food down for him, and he didnā€™t want to eat it. He also didnā€™t want any treats. He didnā€™t want any of the soft food I put in his bowl either. He just looked at it and teeter tottered away. And right before I left for work, he vomited a substantial amount. Looked like kibble in his vomit. he has had issues with vomiting before....Heā€™s just been acting tired and not himself.

Charlie, his new frenchie brother, does have giardia. Ive made sure to keep chunks away from all of charlieā€™s stools and whatnot and Iā€™ve disinfected everything that I can. Charlie is not having any vomiting, and is not lethargic, not really showing any signs or symptoms of giardia. We only found out because of a fecal sample and vet visit. So I donā€™t know if Chunks has somehow caught the bug as well?

Also, weā€™ve been feeding Charlie pumpkin to help him transition to his new puppy food. We didnā€™t want to have chunks feeling left out, so weā€™ve been feeding chunks some pumpkin too.

So really, I donā€™t know what it is. Chunks has had issues with vomiting and regurgitation beforeā€¦.we donā€™tknow if he just ate something weird and his stomach isnā€™t feeling well or what. Any thoughts, advice, suggestions? We will probably take him to the vet, but Iā€™d like to know if thereā€™s anything I can do before going to the vet. Those bills add up.

I told my husband to go grab some rice, some broth , and some chicken to give him. and just give him some rest. any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

If his activity level and drinking, going potty are all good I would say you can ride it out a couple days on a bland diet. However if he acts lethargic or you see blood in his stool or vomit or he stops going potty, a trip to the vet is definitely in order.

Hope your guy is on the mend soon!

How is he doing this morning.... any improvement?

He's doing better...no vomiting. This morning he acted normal. But this afternoon, again didn't want to eat his rice and chicken....and Is just lazing around ....I don't know if it's any afternoon thing or what. I've noticed that I hear some grumbling in his stomach. So i took him outside to go poop and he did. He seemed to feel better after that...just not eating like normal. He's usually a picky Eater anyway...but I don't know. He seemed more energetic in the morning.....still not totally back to normal though. Bought some pepcid to give him...hubby said he felt lots better last night....any thoughts ?

Are you giving the Peocid like 20 minutes before the meal? Is the poo back to normal or still slimey?
