I am hoping for some advice. I got Kevin about 3 weeks ago he is 14 weeks old. When we got him we had him checked out by a vet and he had a clean bill of health except a yeast infection in his ears. Then we noticed he was eating his poop and vomiting it back up. Back to the vet.... got some meds to put on his food, (didn't work) he still will eat it if he is left alone. We pick it up as soon as he does it while we are home. He still has been vomiting at night like 5 or 6 times and its dog food and looks like mucus and a little grass once in a while. Not during the day for the most part just in the evening.
We have tried keeping him calm after meals. Tried changing to a better food (from royal canin to blue buffalo). We raised his dish off of the ground. He is now not even finishing his food. We took him back to the vet today had an x-ray came out normal and they gave him anti nausea meds and also a food that is just boiled chicken and rice. Next step is an ultrasound if he doesn't stop. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I am so worried about him. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is he guping his food down? You may want to try a slow feeder or just spread his food out on a cookie sheet to see if it helps before you invest. Have they ruled out an elongated soft palate? That could cause him to vomit/gag.

No he is not even finishing his food. The vet never mentioned an elongated soft palate

has he vomited since going on the bland diet?

not yet but he usually does not vomit until the evening so ill see tonight

Jax used to vomit at night sometimes. For some reason the kibble was not digesting. I eventually switched him to raw and it hasn't happened again (knock on wood). I think Blue Buffalo has had some recalls so maybe switch his food again to something of a higher quality?

Try feeding your puppy small more frequent meals. Fromm Heartland Grain Free Puppy and Orijen puppy are the two most commonly used kibble dog foods here. Or you could try a dehydrated raw dog food suitable for all life stages like Honest Kitchen Embark or Honest Kitchen Spruce.

If he doesn't vomit... as others have suggested-- look into raw or a dehydrated food

Also try to give him a good probiotic, that will help with his tummy. We found a good company that has a good probiotic, it's Nature's Farmacy, we get the DOGZYMES Probiotic Max. You can get it from their web site or on Amazon.
