What causes Calcinosis cutis, how to treat it?

Our oldest frenchie, Jersey, occasionally has waxy patches, that smell. We'very been told its' Calcinosis cutis. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Has he been getting steroid injections for something?

Have you had him tested for cushing's disease? I had a friend with a Pug, she had cushings and would develop waxy patches that really had a bad odor to them

No she hasn't had any steroid injections, and we haven't had her tested for Cushings, but that's something we better do. Thanks ft or the suggestion.
