Hello everyone!

We will be getting 2 French Bulldog pups this Saturday (so excited!), and from what I've read, a lot of owners give their Frenchies fish oil as a preventative measure for allergies, as well as easing dry skin issues.

We live in a very dry climate (Calgary), so I'm sure fish oil is something our dogs would benefit from. They will be 8 weeks this Fri., and I was wondering when is a good time to start them on it? Are they too young as pups to get it, or is it totally fine? (We never did it with our pugs when they were puppies, so I'm not sure)

Thanks so much!

Hi there :)
You can start the fish oil right away. Infact, especially puppies benefit from the DHA and EPA because those fatty acids play a big role in brain and sight development.

Definitely go with a good quality fish oil and look for Omega 3 oils as dogs already get enough Omega 6's. See if Ascenta sells theirs in Alberta (they are based in NS).

Buy dark- glassed bottles and only use them for less than 90 days.

:)

Thanks so much!

Ah yes, I've seen that brand before. The Sangster's right by my house sells it, and I've bought it before for our adult pugs, as you could really see the dry skin (dandruff) on our black pug due to the dry weather.

I'll pick another bottle up today!

That's great that they have it :)
Love the company and really trust their sources :)
