So my dog Frankie is 18 months now, I've just recently gotten Rosie, 13 weeks.

All is well and good between them, Rosie is slowly learning to go to the toilet outside and beginning to recognise where her spot to go is.

My worry is with my older dog Frankie. She was fully toilet trained by about 8 months old, rarely had accidents, held through the night etc.. Since getting Rosie, Frankie is just treating the house as her toilet! For example, earlier on today I opened the back door for her and she just stared me in the eye and squatted and pee'd on the floor right in front of the open door! Every morning I wake up to wee and poop around the place and the worst part is, she's always been partial to the taste of her own mess so it's always half eaten :(

I have started giving her positive reinforcement, treats and lots of praise when she goes outside, back to basics.

Just as I was writing this post, I heard her run to the back door and went to open it, she popped her head out and tried to come back in but I gave her a little nudge out and she did a poop right there on the doorstep. Maybe the cold weather we're having in London is contributing to the problem?

Has anyone else had this problem?!

P.s. A few things to note...

- I use no ammonia cleaning products when cleaning up mess to try and deter the smells.
- I use positive reinforcement and special treats for both dogs every time they go outside.
- I have bells on the back door but the pup just thinks they are a toy and rips them down- any advice on these??
- Puppy pads get ripped up by the little one within 30 seconds of placing them down!
- Frankie used a crate until she was spayed at 10 months, since the day I brought her home after her spaying, she howls every time she is in the crate so that is now tucked away in storage. She sleeps in her bed in our lounge and always held her bladder until the morning until Rosie came along.

Sounds like she either has a UTI or she's pissed about the new pup. She's marking her house saying this is mine and this and this. Sorry I know it can be a pain! First you should make sure she's not sick. If she's ok then start putting her back in the crate. Also I believe in positive reinforcement like you said you've been doing. But I would eventually try to get away from the treats. A pat on the head and kind words should be enough for doing what they are suppose to do. Cause u don't want your girls to lose their cute little figure. Lol
Good Luck!!!

My dog is same way- will pee if she gets angry. One time I put a blanket on her doggy bed, and she pawed at it, and then proceeded to pee on her bed. Another time I washed the doggy bed cover and she didn't like the way it smelled or the way I put it back on a bit wrinkled, and she peed on the bed as well. And she is totally toilet trained.

Is your baby fixed?

Yes, she was around 5 or 6 years old when I got her a few months ago, and I had her spayed right away, but the peeing on the bed when angry came after.

Have you noticed that she is drinking a lot of water? It could be a medical problem, I would rule that out first. Now if you said she was pee pee in your bed now that might be cause she's mad at you. But dogs usually go to great lengths not to mess up their own bed. Good Luck I hope you figure it out.

I'm pretty sure she's a healthy dog, apart from her licking her paws. When she's angry she will pee on her bed, no where else. :)

Licking the paws are usually first sign of a food allergy.

I think it could be a food allergy too. She has been licking paws ever since I adopted her. She was originally on Walmart brand Actr1um dog food ( only available in Canada ) from before, but I switched her to Acana and then Orijen and she has continued to lick her paws. I've recently switched her from Orijen Regional Red to Orijen Six Fish, with no change,so if she is still licking paws after she finishes a big bag of it I'm considering switching to raw frozen food. I'm resisting that since I'd have to buy a separate freezer, and it's less convenient when travelling. She's a picky eater, doesn't like Fromm four star dry dog food or Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog food.

You have her on excellent food, make sure she's not getting any treats with wheat and corn in them. Make sure no one is sharing people food with her. Lol
Sometimes it takes a good 6 months on the good food to get in their system. You could also try (see pic) I've used it on a westie that would chew his feet cause they were yeasty. The owner ordered some and said it's helping him a lot.
