Hi there! I'm new to the forum. We have a 9 year old male Frenchie, Barclay. Lately, he's been very gassy and had soft stool. We took him to the vet and he didn't find anything wrong. He's fed Hill's Science Diet Dry Dog Food, Adult, Sensitive Stomach and Skin, Small Bites, Chicken Recipe twice a day. Also, I've had him on Native Pet Organic Pumpkin for Dogs, which he likes and it seems to help somewhat. Any suggestions for reducing gas and firming up his stool? Many thanks in advance!

A vet will always advise on prescription food because they sell it.. it is fine for short term but not for life.

Sometime their system just changes , like, us, and we need to lessen the amount of food given in each meal.

You can also add some pure pumpkin to help lessen the runny poo but also avoid chicken as that can be issues for bulldogs

I have found that adding Metamucil has made a huge difference. I open the capsule and mix into his food. You can start with one capsule and go up from there.

I would change to a better quality food and add in a probiotic.
