Hi
My 12 year old female frenchie LOLA has explosive liquid stools. over the past 12 months, She has been given different medications by the vet. Limited success. we changed her diet at the advice of the vet. She sees the vet regularly and at teast 6 times over the past 12 months.

She has lost weight , say from 26 lbs to 22 lbs. She frequently discharges in the house and cleaning up is not an enviable chore. She lost her hearing. she sleeps most of the day. we don't think she is in pain but not sure. she is beautiful and a wonderful family member. Not sure if it is time to put her down. atny advice. we might not take iit but trying to understand if this is a natural or common progression as frenchies grow old.

thanks

So,sorry to hear this... have they tried Tulane powder! She could have colitis which my bulldog suffered with and Tylenol was the only thing to help her

Sorry.. tylan, darn auto correct! Banks was my 62 lb bulldog, her colitis was horrible when it flared up, but I can’t remember the dose as she has been gone for 6 years and I don’t have it in the paperwork I kept, it was on the bottle. It wasn’t much at all... maybe 1/8 of teaspoon

12 years is a long time for a Frenchie. Have you talked to the vet about whether or not they think it’s time?
