Aggression or Protective?

Hey everyone,

Our Leo has been acting aggressive lately towards my wife whenever we are together. He just turned 1 year old. He doesn't show any signs of aggression when I'm not around and it is just the two of them. He doesn't ever act out when it's just he and I; but when my wife and I are together on the couch. He will do whatever he can to lunge at her, nip her hands, legs and fingers and bark at her. I've even scooped him away from her and he will pull away from me just to go back to messing around with her. She tells him to stop but he does not listen to her at all. She is starting to feel heart broken whenever we are all together and he is so mean to her.
Any ideas of why he is acting like this?

Has he been neutered? Also, she needs to be more alpha around him when you aren't around, eg. not allow him to jump on couch, and practice nothing in life is free https://reginahumanesociety.ca/adoptions/choosing-the-right-pet/dog-care/nothing-in-life-is-free/ It might help to take him for obedience training.

I agree. Also, have your wife feed him and take him for walks!

^^^^ agreed.... he is owning you and wife needs to get more involved in showing she is a leader

Has anything new happened in Leo's life lately? New routines? Less exercise? Recently neutered or vaccinated? Any new meds or reapplication of meds?
