We have a female Frenchie who is 1 year and 6 months old. After getting her spayed she has become aggressive and possessive over random items on the ground (socks, chargers, hangers, etc). She doesn't want to bite anyone, just growls and is guarded. She seems to be this way after eating. We have tried feeding her small portions throughout the day and also got her one of those bowls to slow down her eating.

Before getting spayed, she never had this issue. We believe this might be a result from her spayed. She did have some complications after her spayed (we believe they gave her too much anesthesia) and ended up having to go back to the vet to get pumped with fluids.

Has anyone experience any of these behaviors after getting a Frenchie spayed/ neutered? She never showed these behavior issues before getting spayed.

Thank you!!!!

Welcome to FBN! I have not experienced this kind of behavior change after neutering. I would tell her NO or LEAVE IT when she has this possessive behavior, reward her with good girl and pets when she minds and hopefully with consistency and time the behavior will be corrected.

Agree with Alice... this is more about her being a teenager and you need to go back to basics with training... use ‘nothing in life is free ‘ . She has to work for everything she gets.

Do not let it continue as it possibly could become a resource problem which are a hard fix
