Radar is licking his back paw and I noticed it was really inflamed. No other paw looks like this.

Ouch.... Benign tumor? I'd get to a vet today and have it checked/ removed

I have never seen anything like that.
Could he have possibly got bit or stung by something?

I'm thinking it had to be a bite or sting. It looks a bit better today so I am hoping a vet visit won't be required, especially since nothing is open during the holiday weekend.

I think I've seen that before but the name is escaping me. It might have been on this forum. I think there are soaks you can do but unfortunately I can't think of what it's called. Cystic something...

Interdigital cyst is the name. That's what it looks like to me.

Interdigital cyst. Our English bully would occasionally get these. They did aspirated fluid to verify what it was. They have soaks that help. I would have it checked out.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely make an appointment for him.

I thought this too at first but Interdigital cyst are always between the toes....

Hope it is just a bad reaction to a bite

I would soak his paw in some very warm water and Epsom salt and see if that helps.

One of our English boys would get them from walking in cheat grass. We used to soak his front paws.

I have been using the Epsom salt idea as well as coconut oil. The results are below. I think it's helping...

I can't believe you haven't taken Radar to the to get a professional opinion.

Vet was closed, he's not limping and it looked like it was getting better. I am calling the vet today and wasn't looking to get judged on this forum.

Looks painful, and it looks like the salt soaks are drying it out? Not sure if that's helping or not from the pics.

Poor Radar! Hope you get it sorted out soon!

Soaks look to definitely be drying it out... Keep us posted, please

I went to the vet on Wednesday and she thought it would go away naturally in three months but wanted to do a biopsy, just to make sure. The results came back last evening. It's an infection from either a bacteria or a foreign object. I have an anti-inflammatory and antibiotic for him now. Either he is the most stoic dog I have ever owned, or it's just not bothering him. The cone of shame was on for about 2 minutes when I took it off to get him in the car. I put a sock on his paw so he wouldn't pull out the stitches, but that didn't last, happily he isn't messing with his paw at all. Such a good boy.
