Thanks to winginit66 I have started to do some home cooking for Jax and mixing it in with his kibble for dinner. I would love to solely feed him home cooked but want to make sure he is getting all of the proper nutrients he needs. After doing some internet research and chatting with MaplesMommy, I think I am good if I add in fish oil and Nuvet. I can't seem to find how much calcium the Nuvet has and understand they need 800 to 1,000 mg per pound of food. I found a product called Animal Essential's Seaweed Calcium that offers the recommended amount. Jax already gets coconut oil and kefir. I might even throw in a raw kidney, liver or heart every now and then. I've never given Jax eggs but they appear to be highly nutritious so maybe I'll give an egg every couple of days.

So I'm just wondering what other home cookers give as supplements or if anyone has any thoughts to the above.

I cook Isabelle a scrambled egg once in a while. She LOVES them.

My grandpa always used to make my moms Australian Shepard her own eggs for breakfast too. :)

Oh thanks for asking these questions Cbrugs! So glad Jax likes it! What is kefir? I do coconut oil several times per week.

winginit66 kefir is a yogurty looking drink that is a good probiotic. Lisa sent me an article awhile back that lists all of its benefits. I'll see if I can find it and send it to you.
