Fergus & Penelope were obviously upset at being left (again) today. Just had a crazy day where I had several work appointments booked, so I was running all over the city, and in between I was trying to get home to make sure they were ok and got some outside time.

This was the mess I came home to this afternoon.

They let you know what they thought about their day didn't they? LOL too funny!

Ya know, the neighborhood cat has been breaking into homes lately and tearing things up..... could be they found your house. Poor babies getting blamed for someone else's bad behavior

Awww! Silly pups!

I can't believe they stay behind that gate! Wally would have pushed it over in seconds. He was like the Kool-aid man as a puppy, trying to run through walls. However, it's nothing compared to the 6' wall of wood to keep Uma contained, which she climbed. Every. Damn. Day.

Came home to this not too long ago when I was washing Stella's bed and inadvertently left the innards on the floor in the laundry room! Jake is looking at me like such an angel pretending he had no part in it!

I am really surprised they didn't get those towels down and play tug with them, then chew them up!

Those 2 are adorable!

I would crate them when you are gone, that will help, and if they are still potty training, look into the cotton reusable pads. Do a search for "breeder pads" on the net, there are several places you can buy them from and if you get the used ones, (they have cleaned them) they are like half price. That's the ones we use.

Squishy, what you can't see in the picture is how the x-pen is barricaded on both sides. On one side I have our vacuum cleaner holding the pen against the kitchen counter, and on the other side one of our kitchen chairs holds the other end. Otherwise you're right...they'd push it right over and I'd have wild turkeys running around my house while I'm away!

I do crate them if I'm gone for a shorter period of time, but if I have to be out of the house for longer than I can safely crate them (5+ hours...they're only 4 1/2 months old), I have to do this sort of set-up. For the most part they're good and don't tear up the paper, but this was one of their 'bad days'. ;) I keep meaning to get the re-usable pads, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
