I mentioned in another thread that a single dose of Secnidazole can treat giardia, but it's hard to obtain, since it's a special access drug that has to be compounded. There's a great video on giardia at Vet to Vet Secnidazole . If you have your dog on long term baytril for e.coli it'd be really helpful to your dog to be giving Proviable DC or other good probiotic to prevent overgrowth of other bacteria and yeast. Make sure you give it a couple of hours after the baytril dose.

Yes you had posted on mine thread about the treatment for giardia thanks. For now my Nellie takes the proviable DC with her breakfast and the proviable at lunch time so it's at least 5hrs apart.

I'm glad you found such a great vet to diagnose the hystiocitic ulcerative colitis, since it's mainly found in boxers.I hope your dog makes a speedy recovery !!! Keep us posted.
