Hello friends!

I noticed that rico has a small bump on one of his jowls (photos attached). It feels like a pimple or a cyst when I touch it, and it doesn't seem to bother him.

Is there such thing as an ingrown whisker? Should it clear up on its own, or do you think it's cause for concern and a vet trip?

How old is he and any others on his face/chin?

hopefully a pimple, and not a wart. keep it clean and see what it does. if its a pimple it should go away in a week. if its a wart, its contagious to other dogs and should be kept out of the dog run, ect...

It has a quite smooth appearance, and isn't superficial, meaning I can feel mobility beneath the skin. Therefore, I am personally thinking it isn't a wart.... but I could be wrong.

Update! Just face timed with Rico's vet (Side note, what vet does that... I love this guy!). He said it's definitely not a wart, but simply could be acne or at worst a benign histiocytoma and that he will have some animax ready for me to pick up, and it should disappear quickly.

That is the word i can never remember... histiocytoma--- it will go away in a few weeks

I agree, it will go away in a few weeks.

If it is a histiocytoma just watch it to make sure it does not ulcerate because you don't want a secondary infection to develop. As others have said it will likely go away on it's own. My bull terrier had one on his ear and I had it removed. It grew back and we had it removed again and it made his ear flop down permanently:/

Just an update, I began treatment the next day after my post with animax. Actually, when I woke up it had already disappeared.... I am continuing to treat the area 2x per day with the animax, but it's completely gone just a day after first appearing.
