Can anyone tell me what this behavior is?

Our 7 month old frenchie does this almost everyday for about 30 minutes. We have a 2 year old frenchie who never does it. Our vet says not to worry but this seems like odd behavior?

She leans back in a sitting position and puts her head back and licks the air. She is not scooting but just rocking back and forth. It's very strange.

She may have an itch she can not get to... clean under her tail and he girlie parts everyday with an unscented baby wipe.. see if she stops.

Does she respond to you when called? Any foam at her mouth?

Thanks for your reply! Will try it. She has actually had a little bit of foam once. But she's in a trance when doing it and won't respond to anything.

Our Benjamin does that on occasion, and we have that cleaning his tail pocket out with a baby wipe seems do do the trick.

The trance and foam could be concerning.... please video next time and post here.

I agree with Christine 2bullymama I think it's the tail pocket, or girly parts need cleaned. If after you clean and it still happens with the foaming and non responsiveness, that could be an other problem. But I really think it's just an itch in the caboose. :)

Buster did that and it was caused by an infected tail pocket. We clean it now and he has no more problems!

I have no idea if the tail pocket is the problem, but if it is, I would clean the pocket after each bm with an unscented baby wipe or even better with a cosmetic pad with witch hazel. If you can see any raw areas apply Desitin ointment ( or other diaper rash ointment ) with a q tip after wiping until its better. If it's a bad infection that doesn't get better after a few days you may need an oral antibiotic such as cephalexin to clear it up. Some bulldogs that get recurrent tail pocket infections end up getting a surgery to get their tail amputated, so you want to keep that pocket clean. Not all bulldogs have this problem, for example I've never had an issue with my frenchie.

Interesting!!! Banksy does this all the time! I had no idea what it meant!!! I'm going to go home right away and check his tail pocket!
