Hera is 10 month's old and i have had her on a home cooked diet for just over a week and already we are noticing a difference...mainly she doesn't stink the room out and send everyone running when she passes wind:blush2:. I cook every other day, i think i have most of her needs under control. What i would like to know is what bones can i give her to chew on? Do they need to be cooked or is raw ok? {i am thinking on the splintering of the bones ie..cooked chicken and lamb bones}. My only source of meat is the local butcher so i do cook the produce but what about bones? I worry due to all of the warnings of narrowed airways and such. I am getting a little overwhelmed with the sheer amount of info out there and would appreciate some honest opinions. I want something that is good for her teeth but i also read on one post that dogs need bone meal in their food. Hera was on dry biscuit food but it wasn't working for her hence the change.

I give raw chicken bones or grounded eggshells (those those allergic to chicken). Would be great if your dog could eat raw eggs with shell.

You can give any type of raw bones as long as it is big enough to not let him swallow it. Beef, goat, lamb are good ones to start with.... I would never give cooked bones, they can splinter
