Lola is now about 6 1/2 months now and has been very healthy. Other than some itchy ears which have gone away, she has been great.

Friday night she started waking us up 4-5 times a night to go to the bathroom. She would pee very little and then pace around before letting a little bit of runny stool. She would then walk around a bit more and then let out a lot. It was soft serve consistency, a bit of variation in color but no blood. I did find some seeds the resembled that of an apple or maybe a lemon.

We tried feeding her sweet potato mixed with her food for 3 days, while it did help her have solid stools during the day, she still had issues at night. We are now going on 5 days with no sleep so we need to get to the bottom of this.

Other than the night time constipation, she is her normal self. Tons of energy and eats normal.

Should we try to fast her for 24 hours? Stick to pumpkin, sweet potato, rice and no hard food? At this point do we need to take a stool sample to the vet?

I assume you mean nighttime runny stool?

If it came out of nowhere, it might not hurt to bring in a sample and have it tested for parasites, including giardia. It is possible she just got into something that upset her belly. You can definitely try a bland diet and add in some pure pumpkin for a few days to see if that helps.

I'd try a bland diet and see if that firms things up. If not, take a stool sample to the vet.

What food are you feeding and how much with each meal?

Currently feeding her Orijen Tundra. About 1 1/2 cup a day.

I fed her only white rice and boiled ground beef last night, it was the only night since this started that she slept through the whole night. She went in the morning and it seems her stool is slowly coming back to normal.

Orijen is a rich food so that could be why or too much food can be the cause. I would try feeding a little bit less.

She's been on it since we first got it, its something that started out of the blue.

She's a little Roomba so she eats anything thats on the floor.

Agree with all above- also try switching her over a few days to a single protein dog food suitable for puppies eg Acana Duck and Pear from Acana Singles line. If that doesn't work try a dehydrated raw or frozen raw product.
