Hi all. New here and in desperate need of advice. Have an 8 month old Frenchie who has now prolapsed 4 times in the last 3 months! We are at a loss of what to do. He is currently on vet recommended speciality food. They "think" it might be colitis. Anyone had similar issues or ideas???

What is the food he is on? Are his bowel movements normal consistency?

Sorry you and your fur baby are going through this. His food could be the culprit.

So sorry to hear. From what I have read, your vet should check for bacteria and parasites in stool. Your dog may need a stitch to keep the rectum from prolapsing.

Our guy had this when we adopted him.... he need surgery to stitch the prolapse back in place... he was on prescription food for about a week, then I switched to Fromm pork and peas with a little pure pumpkin -- 7 years later he still has not had any reoccurrence. You should seek a second opinion and also be sure to check for all parasites and giardia.
