We just got back from vacation. One day as we were turning into one of the little strip mall things I saw a man walking 2 adorable Frenchies. I squealed and turned all the way around trying to see them. They were near a La Quinta that is pet friendly, so I am assuming that is where they were coming from. Anyway, after shopping I made my husband drive back that way just so I could see if they were still there....just so I could look at them as we drove by. My husband and teenage daughter told me that I was turning into a crazy Frenchie lady. I just said "thank you". :)

I'm totally a crazy frenchie lady.

Other frenchie owners think you're crazy until you say the key phrase "I have a frenchie" then you can see the awkward/annoyance/whatever emotion drain from their body & it turns into a convo about frenchies. It's like us frenchie owners really need secret codes [emoji23]

When we went on vacation there was one other frenchie at our hotel with us, he was 11 years old and actual from Europe, and his owners were visiting family here in the U.S., it was interesting to see! He was adorable but boy did he have breathing problems. He was very corse furred too. Not soft at all. I still loved him and stalked him all 4 days of vacation. Heehee!

Ive been a crazy Frenchie lady for quite a while. It started before I even had Maple. Whenever I see a Frenchie (on the street,Tv or youtube video etc) I immediately start acting like a teenager at a concert of her favourite boy group :w00t: :D And I yell to my boyfriend in a super high pitched voice 'look its a Frenchie!!!' :D
I think its because they are rather rare and you dont see them often (at least not around here).

Since I can relate 100% ,I am always very understanding with people freaking out when they see Maple :D

I see absolutely nothing crazy about your behavior, it is so normal to me!!!

Tgirl could have been me :p

If you weren't in Canada, it could have been! I was wishing I had been walking so I could talk to the dogs. LOL! I thought stopping the car to talk to a random man with some dogs may be a bit much.

:bravo: excellent reaction, as I would have done the same thing -- actually, I probably would have stopped at the first sitting :D

Well Frenchies are pretty addictive. I wish I could have ten! I am guilty however, of actually pulling the car over to the side of the road yelling and screaming as I approached someone that had an English Bull Terrier. We rarely ever see them and totally love the breed, so I was a little overly excited!

I do this with almost every dog, but frenchies take the cake... Oh and Bull Terriers. I want one but I heard their temperament can be iffy with kids, so they got put on the back burner to frenchies. There was a litter of them at the mall once and I can bet the entire mall heard my excitement. I would've brought them all home!

I usually see frenchie mixes at the mall... Disappoints me but they're just babies and not their fault so I love them the same and would bring them home if I was uneducated like most pet store mall shoppers :(

Not crazy at all, we all love our Frenchies, and love to see others as well.

Bull terriers are a very loyal family member. We had two of them when my girls were growing up. We got our first when they were 4 and 6. Then we got our male 4 years later. He was the best! They are just so powerful that they can easily knock over a smaller child while playing. So I would definitely not recommend them for a family with toddlers. My female was also on the small size at 38 lbs. full grown. My male was 65 lbs! They require a lot of training and a firm hand from the start. Great memories with them. They both passed when my girls went off to college (within two yrs. of ea. other) Now that was an empty nest! :(

I am the same way, and I actually love having people approach me to do the same! We took Bisou to a dog-friendly outdoor mall and nearly had her stolen by a woman and her husband who were dying to have their own Frenchie! She sat on the ground and played with Bisou, giving her tons of hugs and tearing up at all the love she was getting. They asked us tons of questions about the breed, her temperament, dietary needs, weight, price, everything. I was more than happy to provide information to them about where to go and what to look for and they were so very grateful. We bumped into them a few times during our stroll and every time her face just lit up! There are several children in our neighborhood that are now convinced they want a French Bulldog because of Bisou. It makes me happy to spread a love of dogs to kids and encourage them to grow up to be a crazy dog person like myself! I'm always stopping people who have Frenchies, or at least cooing from a distance, and I swear they have gotten even cuter to me since owning one myself!!

I'm so excited for you to have your little girl home with you so you can be on the other end of it! You are absolutely going to love it :D

I do this every time I see a Frenchie or a BT. Actually if I'm really honest I do this with almost every dog I see. I have insulted a few people by ignoring them or their children and go right for the dogs but that's just who I am. :D

Oh I adore Bull terriers as well. We have actually been seriously thinking of expanding our little family and also to get Moses a little brother :) We have been thinking it will be another frenchie, or bull terrier. We have also been looking for the miniature bull terrier version. I have been reading a lot of the breed and my only concern is that many says that they might not do well with other male dogs.
Did you ever had such issues?

On the topic... Last month I went for a vacation with my boyfriend to Miami. We took this Big Bus tour and during the ride we noticed someone walking a frenchie. We both got super hyper about seeing him and since we speak Finnish among each others nobody else on the bus understood what the excitement was all about and tried look with their cameras to see what there was! I realized that maybe it seemed a little weird, so I didn't even bother to explain to everybody that we just saw a FRENCHIE on a side walk, so we just quiet down and started to stare our feet for a while :ashamed: ...we just missed our little guy so much.

I always freak out when I see other frenchies too. :) Unfortunately it doesn't happen very often since french bulldogs are quite rare around here. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to have one and not be crazy about them.

Yes we had a couple of trips to the vet for stitches. Nothing very serious. They got in a scuffle or two when my girls would leave food wrappers of some sort in their trash cans. They were great with kids and loved being part of the activity. My female was definitely more independent and my male was very sweet. I'm sure a female would be fine with Moses. I would just look for a reputable breeder that is conscientious about breeding for temperment if that's the direction you choose to go.
That's funny about seeing another frenchie while on vacation. I did the same thing when we were in Scotland and it was even the same color as Jake. I think they thought I was a little nuts. Oh well, I kind of am a little nuts over my dogs.

My husband said:

"People who own frenchies don't just go back to not owning frenchies..."

That being said is the exact reason we are cray frenchie people. Haha!

I have a sticker on my car too and have had many people approach me.

We've gotten used to being stopped whenever we walk Hudson. I can't complain because I do the same thing to people with frenchies [emoji23]. The other day we were driving and people were walking a Frenchie and I gasped and my boyfriend slammed on the brakes and I was like ahhhh Frenchie!!!! He almost killed me.
