Hi all,

I am new to this forum and I own a 5 months frenchie puppy
recently I got him a Deer Rib of Dear Deer
the deer rib is about 3 inch long, after about 5 minutes of chewing, it swallowed the whole piece of it, will it cause any problem?
will the bone content remain in the stomach? or it will be digested?

more info:
he was totally alright when he swallow the whole deer rip and he is also all right now after 2 hour of eating

I am not familiar with deer ribs. Is it an actual bone? I have given my dogs deer antlers, but always with supervision because anything they chew can pose a problem. I would suggest putting a call in to your vet and asking for their advice to make sure what he ingested won't cause an obstruction.

I agree with calling the vet. Not only could the rib cause an obstruction but a sharp edge could cut an internal organ.

I would keep a close eye on him. Make sure he isn't having any trouble having a bowel movement, doesn't start vomiting, and is eating well. I would take him in as soon as anything seemed off.

I agree call a vet, I don't think he will digest that big of a bone and could cause serious problems.

Thanks all I will contact my vet
for more info, the distributor said the bone is destinnated for eatting, thus it is suppose to be digested
these two day my frenchie, bat bat has heavy excercise , normal earring and resting pattern , pool seems alright too

I'm glad to hear that he is doing well. There are lots of things on the market for dogs to eat or chew on that are not safe. I would stay away from them and maybe try something like a Nylabone or something that they can't chew off big pieces of.
