Who here has taken a DNA test of their frenchie, and which one did you use? How are the results explained? Because frenchies are a mixture of different breeds from hundreds of years ago, will the results show this or would it just say 100% french bulldog or a percentage of other breeds? My sensitivities and curiosity has gotten the best of me and i just want to know whether Nellie might be a mixed breed since i believe her to be a puppy mill puppy and can't take the "breeders" words for it. I have seen enough frenchies and noted enough times how different she is from them that i just want to know. And no i will not love her any less no matter what comes back. As some of you know, she's been sick since the third day we got her and i sometimes wonder if her issues (severe IBD) may be specific to not just the frenchie breed but some other breed she may be mixed with. Any input from those who have done this will be appreciated. As well as cost. I am in Canada so not even sure if they are available here. Thanks

I have asked my vet about DNA testing and he doesn't believe it is accurate at all. Most of his employees have mixed breed/rescues in his office and he said they had it done without the dogs being seen and the results were way off. So idk if it has been improved upon or not, but just wanted to pass his opinion on to you.
