Hi I was wondering what's everyone's frenchies favorite protein or what he or she does best on?I'm trying to rotate my Zoe's proteins since I've heard that is good have your frenchie on a rotational diet. Thank you in advance :)

Just curious if you feed raw or kibble? If kibble what brand?

I feed kibble, the brand is acana

Mee too! Our dogs are on the puppy junior right now and they love it. And we have been mixing in the Beef adult one into banksys food because he is 10 months old now so slowly transitioning off puppy. He loves that one too!

We have tried the pork one and it seemed a little too rich. His poops were runny. Haven't tried any of the others yet but we are loving acana so far!

We love acana too!! We've tried the duck and pear, Pacifica from their regional line, we are going try the pork next (hopefully it's not too rich for our dog if it is I'll bring it back and maybe try lamb)

Good call! I love how many protein options there are with Acana. We plan on rotating too, same as you are doing

Right now my girl is on Zigniture Kangaroo, and my boy is on Fromm Chicken.

Only other protein my girl does good on is duck (and possibly turkey, I give freeze dried raw turkey and duck as treats to my babies).

Kangaroo quickly became a favorite of mine!

My boy had a lot of issues, so literally beyond treats everything is too hard on his digestive system beside chicken. I used to feed natures variety rawboost puppy, but it was easier to switch to Fromm because I go to a pet boutique for the Zigniture anyway... Following our vets orders for him at the moment, too afraid to throw off his sensitive body again! It was a nightmare ha!

I wish Acana had kangaroo! Glad you found something that works with your boy

Jax rotates between buffalo, rabbit and chicken. I plan on trying wild boar next. He eats Vital Essentials which are raw patties that I mix with quinoa and green buffalo tripe.

We tried the pork and although Stella liked it, she was extra gassy.

Good thing you don't live in California because Kangaroo has been banned here. My daughter was feeding it to her Am bulldog and then it was pulled right when she finished transitioning.

Aw :/
Hopefully that doesn't happen! Guess I'll have to switch if it does!

That's interesting! Do you know the reasoning behind the ban?

Animal rights groups who don't believe in commercial slaughter of millions of kangaroos for leather and meat. Apparently the original ban was in 1971 and in 2007 it was lifted. Jan. 1st 2016 the ban was put back in place.

Hopefully Zoe won't get extra gassy if it doesn't work out I was going to try the lamb. Have you tried the lamb?

No I did not, but I am cooking for my dogs now and Stella's protein is lamb and no issues. So hopefully the lamb will be good.

I did see that! Thankfully it has been awhile since he has had the chicken and when he did have it, it was the niblets and not the patties.

Oh good, I read your post yesterday and went back and looked up the recall I had received and was worried when it was Vital Essentials. I am glad Jax didn't get sick. Phew!
Are his allergies still staying under control on the raw? I have to stay that Jake is still on the Apoquel, but he has not been licking his feet as much since I started cooking for him. I have not seen any change in Stella however:( Not giving up though. At least Stella loves her food and is devouring it instead of guarding it!!! She hated kibble.

Yes! Everything seems to be under control but Jax still needs to take his Apoquel which I found out by mistake. He apparently spit out his pill last night and was licking and chewing his paws like crazy this morning. I found the pill in the kitchen this morning which explains why he was going crazy...ugh. With that being said, however, he has still been licking and scratching significantly less with being on the raw.

Glad to hear that Jake is improving with the homecooking! Have you tried eliminating fruits and veggies with Stella? Those might be causing an issue.
