My female had a bad scare I gave her Cesars little can that was egg, potatoes, and beef she had a severe reaction to it, and she is nursing, they had to give her Benadryl, they told me her milk may dry up, just wanted to know if anyone else female receive Benadryl while nursing and the outcome of it. Just a panicky mom.

I would think if she's been breastfeeding successfully for a while she will continue to produce milk, but I wouldn't give her any more- cetirizine would be safer. If she's a brand new mom you could have a decrease in breast milk. The vet can prescribe domperidone for a brand new mom to increase milk production.

Hopefully since she is still nursing she will not dry up. I haven't had to put one of our bitches with pups on Benedryl before so don't know for sure, but I have never heard of it. Also give her some goats milk with her food to give her some extra calcium. If she does dry up you can bottle feed the pups. Use the Dr Brown's Natural Flow bottle with the preemie nipple. Feed them goats milk as well.
