Don't no what the problem is but my frenchie refuse to eat any food i buy only will drink milk and eat a little if hand fed i am wondering if it could be medical i am confused.

What are you currently feeding? Have you tried a different brand or flavor?

How old is your frenchie? Is this a new problem or has it always been difficult to get him to eat. Are you giving him cow's milk? If so this could be causing an upset tummy. Is he behaving normally in all other respects? If so you may just have a picky eater on your hands.

I've tried fromm puppy gold, authority chicken and peas which breeder recommend, and honest kitchen grain free turkey recipe will now try can food to see if she will eat.

Try getting a whole bunch of samples from the pet store, or If you live in US you can get from Chewys, com and they will refund you your money if dog won't eat it. My dog wouldn't touch Honest Kitchen or Fromm, but loves Orijen, Acana Regionals, Presidents Choice Nutrition First Grain Free Salmon (Canada only) ). Your idea to try canned dog food is good as well- you can get Whole Earth Farms canned pretty inexpensively at Chewy.com, or Kirkland Signature Nature's Domain at Costco if you want to get a five star dog food for a reasonable price.

Make sure you don't give your dog any table scraps, or even more than one or two treats a day, or add any toppers to your dog food, and he will eventually have to eat.

My Frenchie is 7 months old and he doesn't like his food either. I've had to hand feed him a few times.

It could be the milk upsetting his stomach so he doesn't want to eat. I'd try a high rated small size kibble with a canned dog food topper and see if he will eat that.

There are a few members here that have lived this ... some I think are still dealing with it. Frenchie can be VERY picky/stubborn and it is a long road of trial/error. As someone suggested, go to Chewy dot com and get many samples of high quality kibble to see what your baby will take too.

it could also be something in the food odes not agree with them so try to avoid some of the common issues like... chicken and grains.

We have tried chewy.com and use them often. We have had several allergy issues with Otis and are hesitant to just try anything. I really sit and read ingredients to make sure they don't have lamb, fish, chicken, banana and are grain free. I'd rather hand feed him to make sure he eats lol hopefully he grows out of it soon. Thank you for your suggestions 😊

Some times they will not eat. Henri went through a stage where he didn't want to eat unless we hand fed him. He eventually out grew it. Give only goats milk, it will not upset their tummies, plus it can help with allergies a little.

I'm going through this with Molly now..... All sorts of things go through my head, like maybe she is not liking the Fromm kibble that I've been feed I got for the past 4 years, maybe she is stressed, maybe she doesn't want to eat as much as before, maybe there is a health issue.... Etc etc etc..... I'm so confused, should I try a different kibble? She has an appetite and eats her raw, she loves her vitamins, and will eat the freeze dried liver treats. Sometimes she will eat the kibble, other times turns her nose up at it. Any suggestions?

She probably needs a change. Maybe it's a good time to try switching her to frozen raw or dehydrated raw. Try one of the five star foods from this list. Five Star Raw Dog Foods | Dog Food Advisor

My dog would not eat Fromm, but loves other dry kibble brands like Acana,Orijen, Nutrience so it's all a matter of taste.

Do you rotate between flavors? If not, you can try that or try a different brand. If she's eating the raw with no problem, maybe give her more of that? How old is Molly now? Maybe she just isn't as hungry? Is she otherwise acting normal?

Hi Citty- she will be 8 in August! She seems to be eating normally now... I've also added a bit of her raw to her breakfast now. She may have been having an off day or two..... Or it may be harder for her to chew her kibble with some of her teeth pulled, so now I grind that up in the food processor. I give them a mix of the pork n peas with the salmon tunalini. I've been doing that for A while now and introduced a new grain free flavor, it didn't seem to matter.

Glad to hear she is doing better! And maybe it was just hard for her to eat the kibble with having her teeth pulled. I do feel like I've read somewhere that as they get older, they may not eat as much. But I might be making that up lol.

Anytime a normally good eater stops eating, there is certainly SOMETHING wrong. Could be a health issue, tummy ache, even just being pissed off for some reason..... but anytime one of my dogs won't eat it is a cause for alarm.

Recently last October Jesse stopped eating a lot. She would eat her meal sometimes, but only half.... then I took her to the vet and everything came back fine. She was also acting sluggish, not her normal self. This continued for months..... then suddenly an abcess grew on her neck within a matter of days-- so those can 'brew' for a long time before filling with puss. Finally she is back to her normal self, eating her meals, and prancing around on her tippie toes again. 5 MONTHS LATER!!!

Geez I am not posting this to scare anyone, I'll repeat my original point bc that was why I told that story.....but I know and am certain that anytime a normally good eater starts to not eat well, there is something wrong.

Maybe you have a smart little Girl! Do more research. When dog food manufacturers advertise grain free assuming it's the grain that is the carb that we're all trying to stay away from. It isn't really true! Something has to bind the kibble together. A carb of some sort. Also kibble is cooked and in heating the food all the live enzymes that help our little ones stay healthy and grow are destroyed. I feed raw and always will. There are many ways you can go about it.

Also I switch foods a lot so they don't tire of one thing. Yes, I am thinking that Frenchies come pre spoiled and you have to be willing to experiment. But as I said in an earlier post they're worth it!!!

Pick a food he will eat and stick with it do not change it just cause he won't eat. They all do this. If he isn't under weight or having weird vowel movements just leave him. They are stubborn. He will eat when he is hungry. My pup will be begging for more one day and not eat more then a half cup another. If he doesn't eat he doesn't get treats. It's like a picky kid eat or go to bed hungry. My vet( also a frenchie breed) told us to refrain from switching foods make sure its grain free and stick to one protein source especially when they are young as frenchies are known to build up allergies

Hi Everyone - Thank you for all the input and comments! I think it may be a combination of her not being very hungry in the mornings..... because now she eats her dinner pretty enthusiastically.... most of the time. :) I think she is being picky and stubborn. She loves her raw, so I put it in both her breakfast and dinner meals now (before it was only in her dinner.... I don't know why, just the way I did it I guess, LOL).

I did change from Fromm grain free to Acana grain free just for her because Leo still eats very enthusiastically ...... he's starting to eat like his cousin Benjamin (turbodave)! Hmph! :( At any rate, she seems to enjoy the new kibble so maybe, unfortunately, she was tiring of the Fromm (too bad because I really prefer that kibble), oh well. :) I switched her kibble, not only for that reason, but also in hopes of aleviating her itchy paws that she licks and chews at a lot. :(

Soooo, we shall see how it goes on this kibble for her. They both still get their raw, as well as a few other goodies everyday. :)
