I have been reading this forum for months and have now decided to get your opinions on something. I know this topic has been discussed a lot, it is the frenchie ears. Most seem to stand up straight within 6 weeks. However, our boy is over 7 months old and still has a droopy ear. He is a purebred frenchie and even our breeder is mystified. We have tried the controversial taping method a few times for a couple weeks at a time, but it just continues to fold in half. Everybody says they love it and it is growing on us too. I guess my question is, has anyone ever seen an adult frenchie with an ear that never came up? Is it still possible that it could?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have Frenchies so I really don't know, but I would think if it hasn't come up by 7 months it probably won't. (That is just my uneducated guess). I think he is SOOO cute with that one ear up though!

Usually if they aren't up by know, they are not going to come up, but anything is possible. I have seen another Frenchie from someone in England, who's Frenchie only has one ear up.

davidh - Is that Wallace (Ann M's dog)? I was wondering if something had happened to him or if it just never came up. It's pretty bad when you know all their dogs' names, when you've never met and they live in another country... LOL.
Michelle875 - I will be glad to ask Ann M. Other than that, I have no advice. I'm sure he is adorable the way he is.

winginit66 Yes, Wallis is who I was talking about, and I was wondering the same thing.

When I got Buster his ears were super-glued down, because he was supposed to be 100% Olde English Bulldogge and the ears on his whole litter popped up. That evening I found out his dad was a Frenchie. I had my vet. unglue his ears and it took a couple of days for one ear to pop up again. That one ear up, one ear bent at half mast was the cutest. Your Igor is unique and very cute!

Whoa. Would love the details of that story sometime.

Thanks everyone. Of course I was curious, but we love him just the way he is!
