I'm sure there is already a thread about this somewhere but I couldn't dig it back up.
I know it comes with the territory with the breed, but does anyone have any suggestions for frenchie farts? I know diet has a lot to do with it, but if anyone has anything specific that they find helpful with lessening the blow I would love to hear them!

We pretty much couldn't live with Hudson on kibble. His didn't stop until he was eating raw and now it happens basically never.

This breed gets a bad rap for farts, but we've had our boy on a probiotic and they are 100% gone. I imagine his tummy feels much better now, too!

What I have understood is that it is mainly food related. We have went through a lot of kibble products to find the one that fits him.
During the process it has been very clear which doesn't fit...lots of farting among other issues.
Heard a lot of success stories about raw feeding.

I'm not sure it was the kibble that did it. Maybe a different brand. Ours are almost exclusively on kibble with a small raw suppliment. BUT, they do get Pro Bios every mon, wed, and fri, and no more gassies.

Fortunately we did not get the gassy gene! MIne rarely have an issue.

I would agree with the probiotic. Jax used to be super gassy before he started getting a probiotic and now it's just occasional. There are dog specific probiotics out there but you can also just give some plain yogurt or kefir.

Hmmm.....Ok after reading this I think the hubby would love to try the yogurt or Probotic.....both mine fart CONSTANTLY! Yes, we are on kibble. Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon and they LOVE it!

Probiotics are life savers!!! Seriously!

It pretty much depends on what they eat. Ours don't pass gas that much.

Buster rarely farts, and when he does they don't smell bad. Ruggles (EB) can clear a room, plus amazing hang time!

Very helpful to know probiotics are the key in case I encounter this issue in the future. Liam doesn't get gassy too often but when he does......its silent but deadly

When we gave Moses natural yoghurt (bulgarian yoghurt) he farted like crazy! Now we add to his food some sour milk that has lactic acid bacteria (gefilus) added into it. This seems to help a lot, with the current diet at least. He has almost been a quiet boy since!
I guess it is just a question to find a perfect balance to your own little fella :)
