Well, little man does wander off so I have my eyes glued to him at all times while he is off leash and this particular beach is HUGE and WAY far away from any streets so I don't worry too much. Ollie is a little guy and I'm quick. I can out run him. So if he takes off it's not like I can't catch him. I on't had to follow him a couple times and pick him up and bring him back to the party. He pretty much sticks around and plays with the other doggies. He is very submissive. He runs around and rolls over quickly as soon as another dog comes up to greet him. He then likes to play and chase them around. Watching 10-20 dogs run together and chase each other is super funny to watch. I really enjoy these meetups. Seeing all the frenchies is really fun!

I honestly don't know how Jax would do if we went somewhere and took his leash off because I am too scared to try. If where we are is not gated, the leash stays on. I am terrified that he would run off because he is such a social butterfly and would run up to any animal and any person and he does not listen very well to the "come" command. I do have a trainer coming to our house this weekend to help us with "stay," "come" and "drop it." I did puppy training when we first got him but all he wanted to do was play so I thought I would try an in-home trainer so he does not have all of the distractions with other dogs.

I have not attempted anything other than sit and NO with Ollie. He's WAY stubborn. He listens and responds to NO and sit. Come here.....that never works unless I have food or a toy. LOL Or if I'm walking in the door after being gone all day. Then I get the OH MOMMY I LOVE you and MISSED you Puppy. Otherwise it's I will come when I want you. LOL

Jax doesn't really listen to me either unless there is food involved, then he is a perfect angel! And he always knows when he is being naughty cause he will give me "the look." They are really smart and totally understand, they are just too stubborn to listen! We shall see how Saturday goes with the in-home trainer, it's not cheap so hopefully something comes out of it!
