Frenchie Puppy!!

Hey guys!

I have been doing some breeder research for a few weeks now and have been finding it a little difficult to find a breeder that I love. I have come across a few but definitly have not found "the one!" Now i know that per forum rules, breeder recommendations cannot be made through posts, so if you have a breeder that you would recommend PLEASE private message me with the info! I am located in Sacramento, California and am hoping to find a breeder that I can personally meet. I am willing to drive anywhere from southern oregon to southern california. Thank you and I hope to hear some recommendations!!

I don't have any recommendations since I have a great Frenchie but a not-so-great breeder, but just wanted to say welcome! I live in Sac too

Welcome to you. Have you tried going to dog shows and talking with other Frenchie owners in your area? Also, there should be a French Bulldog Club affiliated with AKC in CA.

best of luck in your search.... I agree with Alice, look on the AKC website and then start visiting them

Awesome! We should have a play date ! (In the future when I actually have a a puppy!! Haha

) I actually have found a breeder located in sacramento that I have really high hopes for! I'm meeting with her next weekend and if all goes well I should have a new baby I'm the next coming months! I really hope things work out, she seems like a very reputable breeder. I also know there is a roseville French bulldog meetup on the 22 of this month. I am planning on going to that to speak with some owners and learn a little more information from everyone.

Definitely! I'm hoping to get a second one in the near future so that'd be super fun. I hope you like the breeder! Finding a good fit is so exciting. I'm actually a member of that group but haven't ever been to a meetup. From what I've seen they all look super nice!

Ya, it's hard. I have known my breeder for over 20 years and have purchased multiple dogs from her, but I think her recent declining health has taken a toll on her ability to take care of her breeding stock and puppies responsibly. Going to the meet up would be a great idea to talk to people first hand.

That's unfortunate, breeding is definitely demanding and hard work!! Yeah i feel like I have done a great deal of Internet research on breeders in the area and have either found that they either offer show dog quality or are just crazy sketchy people... This is definitely turning into a word of mouth thing and I really hope the meetup provides me with some more options ! I will gladly share any info I find out !!

Don't listen to me, I'm a bad example!! I'm one of those rare cases that actually got a dog off Craigslist that turned out to be extremely well bred for an insanely amazing deal. I wouldn't recommend our path to anyone... it's a super long story with a very happy ending, but not without lots of frustration and tears. I just wanted to chime in and say you sound like you're on the right path, and I have faith you'll find your baby soon!! Can't wait to see him/her!
