Frenchie Question

Just noticed that Rosie has more of pointed ears towards the top where most pictures i see Frenchie's have more of a rounded ear on top. Is this a normal thing or maybe something in the breeding?

They usually have the rounded "bat ears". I guess it could be in the breeding. She's a cutie either way!

So she could be AKC registered and maybe still not be purebred? We saw the mother and father when we picked her up but don't remember what their ears looked like and never really noticed this until now. She is our very first Frenchie to own and still learning about them.

They do look a bit pointier but Rosie still looks all Frenchie to me.

She may have a little Boston somewhere back in her lineage. Do you have her papers?

Yes I do have her AKC papers. From what i can tell there are 4 champions listed on it. The dad to her had pointed ears also and the owner showed me a DNA testing report she did before breeding to Rosie's mom which the breeder also has. She only has the mom and dad.

It does look like they are more pointy when she is older so it must be possible. I know other things change as they mature. She is adorable!

They are more pointed that usual, but she is still a cutie. It's just a genetic thing. Somewhere down the line there was one with pointed ears and they are just showing up. You could have two champions and have several litters with normal ears, and then one will have the pointed ears, or heavy ears where they do not stand up. That's genetics for ya.

Thanks all. My wife was getting concerned that she was not pure and the amount that we paid for her. I called the breeder again yesterday and she told me i was the first person to call her about this concern.

She looks all Frenchie to me, but with a bit of pointy ears. I do not see any Boston in her at all. Must be genetics.

Well I think the changes in the ears are amazing- Wow!! I still think she's pure. I just think she just gave you a bigger reason to think she's special! After all, if genes did play a part on her ears, then she's just the gifted one. She's perfectly adorable :luv:

Thanks all again for the replies and assurance. When looking at older pictures i was saying to myself how strange her ears had changed to now. Crazy.
Her dad on the AKC papers is GIZMO XII NP19522802 DNA V673278
Her mom on papers is BABY IV NP22596204

Her mom is from CH LEHIGH'S TIGRE MCARTHUR and CH CARDINAL'S GOODTIME LA TIGRE which from the names these are champions.

Her father has some crazy names like ZVENISLAV IZ SAMARY GORODKA, DALI LA PARURE, VIVI VISHENKA IZ SAMARY GARODKA

2 GREAT GREAT Grandparents were cream in color and all others brindle.

After her grand parents were lots of champions from looking online at the above names from Russia, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom
