Fur loss in patches

Hi I have a 5 month old French bulldog , he's started to lose a lot of fur in patches , Has anyone experienced this , thanks

We did with an English Bulldog and found it was a food allergy that caused the hair loss.

Allergy is the least likely cause at this age. First, you need to rule out Demodectic Mange. Get yourself a dose of nexgard or similar (based on the weight of your dog) and give yourself 3 weeks to assess.

Is it on sides only? Could be seasonal alopecia which is harmless.

Could you post a photo... could be a number of things , but at 5 months of age potentially could be mange

Titan loses small circular patches when his skin gets irritated and responds with staph.

Could also be hypothyroidism or staphylococcal infection. Vet really needs to scrape the area. Some people have tried putting on NuStock for different skin problems ( put on dog outside and let it dry before bringing dog inside ). Other sprays you can try include Vetericyn, Equisilver, Banix. You can also bathe the areas with an antibacterial and antifungal shampoo like Curaseb, Malaseb or Ketohex.
