hello fellow dog frenchie lovers

Ive had dogs in my life since I was a kid, I am 35 now.
I have usually had larger dogs as it was just normal for me, dogue de bordeaux, rottweilers ect..
I was in the process of getting a Cane Corso but the stars just didnt line up and the sire/dam had a few issues

someone suggested that I look into the French bulldog breed as they told me
"they are like big dogs but small" in stature and behavior. the more I looked into the more I fell in love with the breed
I am now looking/asking more about the breed from owners and breeders

and hopefully can find one

looks like a good community
eager to read and learn

cheers

Welcome!! If you want to learn more about Frenchies there are plenty of articles and threads about their various health issues, etc. on this forum. Alternatively, have a look at your local Frenchie rescue organization. There are many posts on here with Frenchies who are up for adoption.

Funny though, Wally our Frenchie was originally going to be a rotti but I couldn't get my husband on board. He wanted a smaller dog so we opted for a Frenchie. They are fantastic dogs!!

thanks, I am somewhat open to most ideas
I did adopt an dog once and some health issues came up that may have scared me off that process again. my dog ended up having kidney issues that the vet said they should have caught. with all the emotional and financial investment put into him I was so frustrated with the process

I am now hoping to see the litter sire/dam before getting a puppy. Meeting with the breeder and talking ect..
If anyone knows of some breeders near Saskatchewan (Manitoba/alberta/BC) I am willing to drive/fly

thanks

:welcome3: to FBN ..... you will love the breed -- total clowns, but think they are the biggest badd-a$$ around.

Best of luck in your search and please keep us posted and share pictures
