I am just having tons of concerns with him.. and I donā€™t know how to deal with it.. heā€™s 10 weeks just about and his ears are still floppy, they havent tried to go and stand straight up at all yet... is that normal? When he does sleep they do stand straight up, but itā€™s just the way heā€™s laying.. Ive read about calcium? What kind of calcium can I give him with out making his tummy upset..??

Then one last thing.. I think my baby boy had started to get cleft and then stopped... I am worried this may cause some issue later down the road.. the breeder is a good friend of the families and I am getting a great deal for him, but was before I found his nose like this.. soo now I am wondering if the money I am paying for him is what should be paid cause of his issue, I donā€™t know if itā€™s gonna be issues later on down the road where he will need surgery..

I just need some help.. I have always wanted this breed and when to go and google things to learn about them I donā€™t find a direct answer.... soooo happy I finally found this site..

Thank you in advance.. heere are some photos of our baby boy.. (havenā€™t found a name we liked yet either)

Welcome to FBN!!! I'd ask the vet about the cleft issue. His nose may color in some more or not. If not and you live where there is lots of sunshine you may need to put sunscreen on it when he is out in the sun . You can give him a teaspoon of plain yogurt for extra calcium. Usually the ears are up between 4 and 8 weeks. I'm sure some take longer.
Congratulations and enjoy your boy!!!

Congratulations on your new family member. I donā€™t have any input regarding cleft. Regarding the ears, i have pictures of one of my Frenchies with floppy ears at 4 months old. I remember his ears would stand then flop, stand then flop until they finally stayed upright for good. I was worried at the time, but it was perfectly natural. My guess would be the ears will be fine.

Welcome to FBN!! Adorable little one!

Cleft.. have the vet confirm but I agree with you appears to be a little bit.

Ears... while teething they will drop for a bit

Welcome!! He's gorgeous!! His markings look a lot like my boston terrier, so much black. :)

I agree with the others, speak to your vet about the cleft. It does look a bit off.
